Picture post of Ady

I had to take pictures Ady the other night when she had to wear her recital outfit for pictures at dance.

Crafty Crafty

What a weekend!
On Sunday, I started work on the letters to hang in Owen's room. It was pretty easy and I'm happy with the way they turned out. I still need to sand down the edges and put a final coat of sealer on them. Then Ian needs to figure out the best way to hang them.

After class today, I went to my friend Jen's house and she helped me (well I helped her really) turn my dad's old baby blanket into a quilt for Owen. It's almost done as well. I need to sew up a corner of it and stitch the back to the front.

I was worried that Owen is breached so my dr did a quick ultrasound and he is just fine. :) He just prefers to stick his butt out instead of his feet like Ady did. I gained 1.5 lbs in the last 3 weeks so that was a lot better!! Blood preassure was 100/50, so thats still good and Owen's heart rate was 143, again, good.

Owen is King!

I had a quiz in my accounting class today and the last question was this...
"____" is king.
I had no idea what my teacher was after with that one, so I answered "Owen" :) She came around and looked at our quizzes and asked me what that was about. I pointed to my belly and told her that was Owen. She laughed and said she couldnt count that one wrong!! :)

Aww!! Bedding is here!

Yesterday, Ady and I got home after a long day of shopping with our friend Jen, to find that we had several packages sitting at our door! Yay!!
I spent the day putting the crib together and washing the bedding. Here is the final result.

I also bought letters yesterday that spell out Owen's name and now I need to get to the craft store again to buy scrapbook paper to cover them with.

She can read!!

Ian has been working on teaching Ady to read recently with a 'Dick and Jane' book that we bought. I came home from work last night to find the two of them sitting in the chair and Ady reading to Ian!!! I was so excited I pulled out the camera and shot a video of it! Sorry about the fish tank noise in the background!

And just for your viewing pleasure, a couple of recent pictures of Ady. She is practicing her curtsy in the first one for her upcoming dance recital

Single digits!!

Neighborhood happenings

Last night I got home from work and the house was dark and quiet. Very weird. Turns out, Ian and Ady had been to the park almost since I left for work. Ady played with a little girl while "Ian talked to her father' After getting Ady into bed I sat down and talked to Ian.
Turns out that the little girl and her dad are our neighbors! We'd met them a couple of times and he even helped us move in our insanely heavy couch when we were moving in. I guess him and Ian talked for quite a while before realizing who they were actually talking to! And, they also have another baby on the way! Pretty exciting. They parted ways last night saying we should all get together some night for a fire...sounds good to me....
So do hamburgers on the grill..I think I will have to arrange for hamburgers on the grill this weekend!! yum!

First dream about Owen and nursing class

Last night, Ian and I went to a breastfeeding class. I didn't get too much out of it, mainly because I've tried to do it before. The thing that stuck with me the most is 'it's not supposed to be painful!' When I tried to nurse Ady it was painful from the start and it stayed that way. I could never get her to latch on properly. This time, I'm determined to make it work. So we took a class and I've bought a book to read.

Also last night, I had my very first dream about Owen. Ian and I just walked into the hospital b/c apparently, I was in labor (although I was acting like a gal in labor). There were no details of my labor or delivery. I just knew I'd had the baby and I got out of bed and put my OLD CLOTHES ON! Thats right, straight from delivering a baby back into my old jeans and a green shirt! Wouldn't taht be nice?! To make it even better, I looked way better in my dream then I ever did before I got pregnant!
I held Owen for a minute but he looked 'weird' to me..very baby clown like. His skin was orange and just not right. I went to the bathroom and there was a protest of some sort in the bathroom (yeah, weird) and I sat there thinking 'I've lost it. Someone has taken my baby' (b/c all I remembered was seeing a weird looking doll, not my baby!!)
I left the bathroom and went back to this giant room. Ian was sitting there with his buddy Nisar from work and holding Owen. This time it was actually our baby. He had blue eyes and tons of sandy blonde hair that was just wild. I picke dhim up and held him in front of me so I could get a good look at him.
That was it..that was my dream. It was a rather weird one, too! **EDIT: I talked to my mom this morning and she had a dream about Owen too! In her dream, he had red hair! :) She always wanted kids with red hair and that didn't happen, so now she is hoping for a grandbaby with red hair!

I'm pretty much at 30 weeks now. Oh which reminds me...I picked Ady up from my friend Jen's last night and the first thing Ady said when I got there was, 'Do you have the baby mom?" Poor kid thought I was going to be bringing home a baby with me. I told her that we still have at least 10 weeks before we see him and that he isn't down cooking. She repeated that to me all night! :)

Wow..5 years ago today..

I let the cat out of the bag that I was pregnant with Ady. I had found out myself on St Patrick's Day and slowly started telling folks that needed to hear it directly from me.
Then I sat down and typed out an email to all the other people that I needed/wanted to tell but didnt need to sit face to face with me to hear it..I got a lot of replies back that night asking my if it was an April Fool's joke...I hadn't even thought about it being April 1 when I sent that email out.
Ironically, today a friend of ours let her cat out of that bag that she's pregnant!!
