Dr appt

I went to the doctor today. Since I"m 28 weeks along now, I also had my GD test (gestational diabetes). I went in at 11 and drank super sweet lemon-lime stuff and then sat in the waiting room watching ...watching...brain fart here....I used to love this show and watch it ALL. THE. TIME. Holy cow. What Not To Wear. Sheesh...anyway...I was really nervous b/c I hate having my blood drawn. When I had my first appt and they took my blood, I pretty much passed out. Not fun. I don't recommend it.
My hour passed and the gal called me back. Luckily, this time I had a talented lady draw my blood and I hardly felt a thing!! yay!! Once that was done I met up with Ian and had lunch. Then it was time to wait for my OB appt.
Once I was called back they took my blood pressure, 100/42, and then they weighed me. Boo. I've gained 9 lbs in the last month. 9!! That's twice as much as I should have gained. My dr asked me if I knew why I gained so much. I blamed it on the Cadbury eggs....at least my craving for those has gone away! I've moved onto oranges. And my ever shrinking stomach helps with how much I eat now too! Dr said not to worry about the weight so much but to keep a better eye on things this time around.
She had me get on the table and she measured my belly, right on track there and Owen's hb is 143 per minute, so also good there. :)
That was it. Then on my way out she called me, 'Ms. blimpie" !!! I was shocked!! Oh well...I know she didn't mean it in a mean way, she was trying to make sure I didn't make too much of this weight thing..but I am. I've already gained what I gained with my entire pregnancy with Adyson..and I have about 11 weeks to go.
I go back in 3 weeks now. And we have a breastfeeding class next Tues. I'm looking forward to that.

28 week update

Ok, here is the update. I'm procrastinating on working on my project! Since I'm exhausted, this post will be bulleted so I don't have to try too hard to make any sense! :)
  • This has been a whirlwind week for me.
  • I worked Mon-Wed and Ady has dance class tonight. It's also parent observation night so I'm making Ian go with me. :)
  • All I've wanted to do this week is sleep. I've managed to get one nap in so far this week and it was by far the best hour and a half of the week!!
  • Ian was officially accepted into the PhD program and will start in early Oct.
  • Now I have to start thinking about jobs
  • I bought a rug for 50% off at Pottery Barn Kids for the babe's room.
  • My next Dr appt is on Mon and I have to do the 1 hour glucose test (checking for gestational diabetes). I'm not at all worried about it going poorly..just worried about them drawing blood. I hate having that done.
  • After Mon appt, I will be going to the Dr. every 2 weeks until I hit 36 weeks and then I will be going every week.
Ok, that's all I've got. I'm going to work on my project, make a grocery list and decide if I want to go to the store today or take a nap. Early thoughts are saying I take a nap!!

28 Weeks

Here is the 28 week belly. I'll do an update later today, hopefully. There is a lot to get done today!!

27 Week update

I was at home in Indiana when I hit the 27 week mark so this post is a bit late.
It was nice to be home for a few days. It was jam packed with things that needed to be done though.
First on the list was changing Ady's name. When she was born, I gave her my name, 'White'. Now that Ian and I have gotten married (finally!!) we needed to change her name. That didn't go as smoothly as it should have! I forgot to bring a marriage license with me so we had to leave Lafayette and go back to Delphi to get one. Once that was done, it was easy sailing. She is now a Clift. I just need to get to the SS office to change that over now.
Thursday my grandma took us out to dinner at TC's. That was great, as always! On Friday I was able to do a tiny bit of shopping of with my mom while my grandma was at the doctors office. Then my aunt and her husband came over for dinner that night. We played a game called Sequence and twice Ian kept me from winning simply b/c his turn was before mine!! On Saturday we met up with my friend Liann and had lunch and did a bit of shopping for baby things. :) Saturday night was spent around a bonfire roasting hot dogs and brats and looking at the stars.
Sunday it was back on the road for us. 8 long hours in the car. Luckily, Ian was in the mood for a good lunch and not just fast food so we stopped at Texas Roadhouse and had lunch. I was starving by the time we stopped.
I was glad to be home but disappointed that no one had come to clean to my house while I was gone!! ;)

Anyway, here are a couple of pictures taken while on the trip.

Ok, the update

I've officially been on spring break since Thursday afternoon and that fact alone makes me very happy! The last week of classes was exhausting to say the least.
I had a project due in my presentations class. I thought it was all done on Thurs morning and I would just sit through class while everyone else 'tweaked' their project. Boy way I wrong! I had to print it off three more times before it was all right! What a waste of paper!
Since then, I've been doing laundry and more laundry. It's ridiculous how much laundry 2 1/2 people can go through!! But I have to do all of this laundry so that we have everything clean for our trip to Indiana on Wed. That, I'm looking forward to. Not the drive though! :)
In preparation for this trip, I told Ian that we needed to get our tires rotated and balanced. We headed for Sam's to stock up on food and get the tires taken care of. About half way through our shopping, Ian got a call from the tire department telling us that two of our tires were bald and they couldn't do anything with them. My thought was 'oh crap' . Ian headed over to the tire dept and bought two new tires. Oh well. The car is much easier to drive now!!
So today, I hope to vaccum out the car and finish up the laundry...but first...
I need breakfast!

Blackforest Stuffed Cupcakes

Yesterday was Ian's birthday and we had dinner with some friends. It went fairly well, considering we had Ady with us and she is one huge ball of energy! If there was way I could tap into that energy, I'm sure she would take care of all our heating and electrical needs for the entire year!
I received a couple of comments at dinner last night about how much I"m showing. Ian made comments later in the night too. It's so weird that is acting all shocked that I have this belly now.
Still no news on the PhD program and Ian is getting antsy about it.
The time change is really messing with me. I'm wiped out this week! I'm going to work on a project for a few minutes and then curl up in bed for several hours! :) Then I need to make the tacos that I was to make Sunday night, for dinner tonight.
I'm very very ready for spring break to get here..and spring weather!! Only one more day of classes and then I'm free for one whole week!! Next Wed we are packing up and heading to IN for a couple of days. Our main motivation is to get Ady's named changed since I gave her my last name when she was born. We had two choices there..go to Lafayette and have it done, or pay court fees and all that fun stuff to have it done here...so IN here we come. Oh and seeing friends and family is nice too ;)
We will only be in town for three days and those days are already packed up tight with things to do!
Thursday-change Ady's name, story time for Ady at granny's library, dinner with parents and gma at TC's
Friday- day is open. afternoon/evening Aunt Kathy is coming over to see us! yay!!
Saturday- two of my favorite people in Indy are coming up to see me.
Sunday- hit the road again
At some point my parents wants to celebrate Ian's birthday. Ian won't like this b/c he doesn't like birthdays. Ady will be thrilled b/c it means more cake!

Speaking of cake...I found a recepie for cupcakes that I must make..wish they were already made so I could be eating one!!

As you may be able to tell, I'm on a chocolate kick. It's not my fault...it's Owen's!!

The joys of pregnancy, 25w3d

Just a quick update so I can take a break from my test.
I noticed this morning that I can no longer see my feet without leaning over! I'm sure this happened a while ago, but I just took note of it today.
And it's getting harder to tie my shoes. I need warm weather so I can start wearing my sandals! But I live in MN..we got snow today. BOO!!! So I will just have to keep trying my best to get these things tied!

Holy Cow! 25 weeks!

I can't believe I am already at 25 weeks!
Nothing much new to report this week. We are waiting to hear if Ian was accepted into the PhD program. I'm torn on which way I want it to go. I want him to get in b/c I know how upset he would be if he didn't and he's worked hard for that spot. On the other hand, I can't help but think of all the lost income that will come from him quitting his job. I just hope that if it's bad news we don't get it next Tues b/c that's Ian's birthday! You really shouldnt have to deal with such bad news on your birthday!

Yummy dinner

I found a recepie for 'brown sugar chicken' here. It took me all of 10 minutes to throw together and 5 of that was getting a Sprite from the store! I cooked up some rice and threw the chicken on top. It was really yummy! There is just enough left my lunch tomorrow.
You should try it. You won't be sorry! And the ease of it is laughable!

Creepy dream

I had a dream last night that when I got up this morning to take my shower, my stomach was covered n ugly purple stretch marks!! Ian told me I looked like a purple tiger. I just wanted to cry.
I was very relieved when I woke up this morning and saw that my baby bump is stretch mark free!!

Already kicking his sister...

Ady asked me tonight if we could curl up and watch Wall-E. I, of course, said yes. :) Owen started moving around a lot once Ady was up on my lap and I asked her if she wanted to feel her baby brother kick. So we put her little hand on my belly and she got to feel a great big kick! I asked her if she had felt him and she just said, 'Yep, the baby kicked me", like it was just a regular ol thing to happen. :) Then all attention was back to Wall-E.

It's my job to brag

Ady is becoming quite the talented artist. She is always drawing something and I just had to share what she came up with last night!! :)
