Walking my feet off!

This past weekend, one of my oldest (and old roomie) came up to see me! I haven't seen her since my wedding and that was over three years ago. We were long overdue for a visit!!
On Friday, we stayed up way too late (at least in the book of this pregnant gal) and I warned her that little man Owen likes to wake very early! Ha Ha! but she could sleep as late as she wants. Come Saturday morning, I was stunned with litle man didn't wake up until 8:30. It was heaven!! He must have known how tired his poor momma was from growing his new sibling(I'm convinced it's his new sister, but anyway..). I don't think he has ever slept so late!
After breakfast we all headed for the park so we could walk. Well, we didn't stop at the park with our walk. We walked downtown and strolled around the Farmers Market and then we checked out Rocehsterfest and gave B (my friend) a little taste of heaven with friend cheese curds.   At this point it was starting to rain so we headed for home. B and I decided on our walk that we should go to the Mall of America and Ikea. (what were we thinking?!?!)
Once home we spiffed ourselves up and headed for the cities. We walked, and walked, and walked. B bought a pair of shoes. That was our only purchase..ok that and cookies to take home. :)
We were both dead tired by this point but I really did have to go to IKEA. I needed to get bedding for the kids new beds. Want to see it?

I bought one in red and one in green. I haven't decided yet who will get what color.
After staying up late again on Sat, I was very happy when little man slept late on Sunday! Ian got up and took his bike ride while I got Owen breakfast and hung out with B. After we ate breakfast, B headed back home. :(
Then the work began. We cleaned out Ady's bedroom. We need to sell our futon so that her current bed cam move to the basement and we can set up the bunk beds in preperation for Owen moving into her room with her!
But that's our weekend! Busy as usual. And we got the dates of my in-laws long visit. This is one jam packed summer!

7 Weeks

Baby's now the size of a blueberry!
Baby's brain -- both hemispheres! -- is growing fast, generating about one hundred new cells every minute. Arms and legs are emerging as joints start to form, and a permanent set of kidneys (baby's third!) is now in place.

Due Date: Early February

Weight Gain:I'm up 2 lbs. The goal is not gain 40 lbs this time around like I did with Owen!

Symptoms: Exhaustion. and sore boobies. :)

What's different this time: With Owen, my sense of smell was ridiculous. i don't really notice that this time around. And my boobs didnt hurt this much with Owen, but they sure did with Ady!

Cravings: nothing so far.

Aversions: Ian brought home a "cup of meat" the other night from a picnic. I told him to get it away from me b/c it smelled horrible.

Sleep: Oh, sleep. Sleep is fantastic! I sleep like a rock. Now, if I could only get more of it!!

I am loving: sleep

I miss:  not feeling bloated!

I am looking forward to: First doctors (well midwife) appt on the first. Will hear the heartbeat and should get an ultrasound!

I'm spazzing about: Getting Ady's room redone so that Owen can move up there. I'ts going to be a lot of work!!

Best thing about this week: Went to my nurse's appointment and they drew blood! I didn't pass out or feel too badly afterwards!

Milestones: um...7 weeks?! :) and we've been telling more people

Movement: nope, nothing. still too early

It's a...: I'm already convinced it's a girl

I heart you Pioneer Woman Cinnamon Rolls

So yesterday morning I woke up wanting cinnamon rolls. They just sounded so good...gooey and warm with icing. I blame Ian since he told me he had one from a local bakery on Friday. We had a choice to make. We could go to the Farmers Market and get some or I could take a shot at making some. (I've never been a fan of making bread like things...yeast and I don't really get along) A plan was hatched. We'd eat breakfast and then go to the Market for Ian's favorite cookies and some cinnamon rolls.
Then Ady woke up. With a fever. A fever of 103.3 to be exact. Our plan went right out the window. Ian didnt want to go to the store (now we needed gatorade for Ady) and the farmers market since he has been sucked into a show (it was really a fancy infomercial) how keeping your brain healthy. Being the good mom and wife that I am, I got dressed and headed for the store.
I got Gatorade for Ady and also picked up the things I needed to make the Pioneer Woman's famous cinnamon rolls. Her recipe makes 50 rolls!!
After 4 hours!!!!, I had the most delicious rolls in my oven! The best part is, I have six more pie pans full of rolls in my freezer. When the rolls came out I even made some of PW's icing. Powdered sugar, milk, butter, maple syrup, and a tiny bit of coffee. They were oh so good!! I'm going to have a hard time not baking these rolls every chance I get!!

Re-Do

I came across this blog, Young House Love, and ever since I've been obsessed with remodeling our bathroom. We knew it would need to be done when we purchased the house. It's not really awful, it's just ugly. I hate the paint, the cabinet is old, the counter is that lovely white with gold flakes, the tile in the shower is cheap, and the window....don't get us started on that window.

There is a window in the shower. Great for light, horrible for cleaning. It's just not possible to keep a window clean when it's in your shower! Anyway, back to the point. I came across the blog, Young House Love, and I loved their bathroom remodel. After reading all of the posts about it, I saw how much it cost them and it really wasn't bad at all!

My color choice, Shale

                                                                                                              Ian prefers Grey Squirrel
So, now I'd like to start saving up so that we can re-tile the shower, take out the window and replace it with glass block (maybe with a vent window at the top), put in a new vanity, countertop, and sink, paint, and new tile around the vanity. I dragged Ian to Home Depot last weekend to look at tiles and just to start thinking. We didn't agree on much. He likes really dark stuff and I like more natural, light colors.
Good thing we have plenty of time to figure it out!!
