Ch-Ch-Changes!

This weekend, we met my mom at the half way point between our homes and picked up Ady. She seems so much bigger and smarter since we last saw her! While she was gone, Ady read over 24 hours in the summer reading program! We are so proud of our little book worm! :)
Ady has asked me for a surprise when she got home and I think I delivered. She had bunk beds waiting for her when she got home. She was pretty excited to go to bed last night. She told me as i was tucking her in, that she felt like she was sleeping in an attic. I have no idea where that came from, but I'll go with it! She starts swim again tonight. Four nights a week and she couldn't be more excited about it. I enjoy it too. It's nice to sit and watch her do something that I know she is enjoying. And it's nice to sneak in some reading as well!

The other news is that when we got home there was water on our kitchen floor. The freezer had melted. AGAIN! (Told you it wasn't going to last Ian!!) I'm so so glad that B and I went and purchased a new refrigerator on the 4th. I called Sears to see if we could get an earlier delivery date b/c with the recent changes 8/1 isn't going to cut it. I will have to wait at most one more day to find out when this beauty will finally enter my home.

I can't wait to fill it up and organize everything! (Hey, I've never had a brand new appliance!)

oh! Tomorrow morning, i get to drop my van off at the repair shop to have the damage repaired from an accident in early June. It will take 3-4 days and while it's being fixed, I get to drive a brand new van! Really excited about this too!! (Hey, I've never had a brand new car either!!)

I've told you how Ady is doing, so lets talk about Owen. He has his the 'terrible twos" Taking him places is getting challenging. At least going out to dinner. i see lots of eating in for us in the near future! Also, he hates wearing pants. It's a battle every morning to get him to put his pants on. He has become very very stingy with his kisses. I don't let that stop me! I just kiss him anyway!! :)

9 Weeks

Baby's now the size of a green olive!Your little embryo has now officially graduated to fetus-hood. Adding to the excitement, a Doppler ultrasound device might be able to pick up the beating heart. With basic physical structures in place and increasingly distinct facial features, baby is kind of starting to look like...well...a baby!

2 year check up

Before my appointment today, i took Owen in for his two year check-up. He's in the 95th percentile for weight (no shock there!) and the 63rd percentile for his height. We will go back in 6 months to see how his speech is doing since that seems to be a little delayed.
Owen is happy little guy! He loves his momma and goes absolutely nuts when Ian gets home at night. It's so much fun to watch him get excited about things!

First Appointment

I had my first midwife appointment today. I'm so glad I made the change from OB to the midwives. It feels so nice to know that I will be making the choices about my care and that when I deliver, I will recognize the face that is in the room with me!
Now, don't get me wrong, I loved my docotr when I was pregnant with Owen, but wasn't very happy when she told me at the last appt that she was leaving on vacation so there was no way she would be delivering me. I was delivered by two residents and an attending that stood over their shoulders with his arms crossed the whole time. NO THANK YOU!!
Anyway, back to 3.0. :) I'm measuring right at 8 weeks. We could see the heart fluttering away but she didnt try to hear the heartbeat, we will do that at my next appt in 6 weeks.
She said my stomach muscles are good and strong for a third time mom! Everything looks good and she has even started giving me tips on nursing already! (I love her for that!)
That's about all. I'll leave you with our first look at 3.0

8 weeks

Baby's now the size of a raspberry!
Baby is growing like mad, putting on about a millimeter every day and continuing to straighten out in the trunk. Though you can't feel it yet, baby is moving those little arms, legs, and (now only slightly) webbed fingers and toes like crazy.

Due Date: Early February

Weight Gain:Still only up 2 lbs

Symptoms: Not as tired as I have been but I've been getting motion sickness. Long car rides and even watching Owen swing. (That one is weird!)

What's different this time: With Owen, my sense of smell was ridiculous. i don't really notice that this time around. And my boobs didnt hurt this much with Owen, but they sure did with Ady!

Cravings: Mexican food

Aversions: Nothing this week

Sleep: Oh, sleep. Sleep is fantastic! I sleep like a rock. Now, if I could only get more of it!!

I am loving: sleep

I miss:  not feeling bloated!

I am looking forward to:My appt on Friday!

I'm spazzing about: We are making progress on Ady's room. All the toys are out and the bed will be moved out soon!

Best thing about this week: Seeing B for the first time in years and dinner with friends!

Milestones: no real milestones this week

Movement: nope, nothing. still too early

It's a...: I'm already convinced it's a girl

It's a miracle!! Or curse! (depending on who you are!)

Ian called me last night when he got home from work. That damn refrigerator was working! After I'd speent all day looking for my new one! grrrr. Ian said we would go and look anyway. So we did. And I loved one of them. It was even 50% off. *le sigh* We did not walk away with a new one. We walked away with 'we'll think about it'
I came to work this morning and the girls gave me lots of reasons why we should go ahead and get it.
1. Adding or upgrading anything in your kitchen adds value to the house. (Ian will love that one!!)
2.I will be able to actually SEE what is in our fridge/freezer!!
3. They both (the girls at work) got new ones. (ok, so that one probably won't work on Ian)
4. It was 50% off!!! That's a darn good price!
So we'll see. One good thing did happen last night. We sold the futon. So now, Ian and a buddy of his can move Ady's unbelievably heavy bed from her room to the basement so that we can make way for the new bunk beds!

When it rains, it pours

Late last week, Ian and I woke up and noticed that our A/C was running almost none stop and that it's wasn't putting out very cold air. Awesome opossum! Ian looked around and found that the tube going from the unit to the house had ice on it. That can't be good, right?! Moving into the basement we saw water (?) on the floor running from the furnace to the drain. Looks like it was time to call the repair guys in. Ian set up an appt for this morning. So, that meant we would be living without A/C for a few days. Thankfully, this summer has been unusually cool, so it wasn't too bad at all really!
Fast forward to last night. I started to clean up dinner when I noticed a puddle under the freezer door. I opened the door and noticed melting ice on the door. Ummm....Ian?!?! We started looking around and decided well, maybe the door wasn't closed all the way. So we cleaned up the mess and hoped things would start to freeze up again. Just as I was heading for bed, Ian opened the fridge/freezer and no, things were not colder. I grabbed the coolers and started taking stuff out of the freezer to put in the chest freezer. With some rearranging, I was able to get everything into the chest freezer. After that, Ian looked around to see if he could figure out what was wrong with the fridge. Dead motor it seems. So I was off to the store to get ice to put our groceries in.
The kitchen now has three coolers in it with all of our food from the fridge. Tonight, we shop. Hopefully coming home with a new fridge purchased that will be delivered ASAP!!!
